Maintenance Electrician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, logic, and wiring diagrams. The candidate should possess knowledge of N.E.C., O.S.H.A. guidelines, and be proficient in using electrical/electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, as well as programmable controllers. The role requires troubleshooting, repairing, and testing mechanical equipment common to distribution centers, such as conveyors, diverters, and packaging equipment. Proficiency in plumbing operations and the use of pipe fitting tools is also essential.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, logic, and wiring diagrams.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment such as conveyors, diverters, and packaging equipment.

  • Perform all plumbing operations and use pipe fitting tools proficiently.

  • Ensure compliance with existing laws and operational requirements set forth by governing agencies.

  • Perform electrical welding and troubleshoot systems controlled by electrical devices.

  • Make correct and expedient repairs under pressure.

  • Lift up to 80 pounds frequently.

  • Work flexible hours depending on business needs.

  • Complete powered vehicle training program and maintain certification every two years.

Essential Skills

  • PLC troubleshooting (read ladder logic, check inputs/outputs)

  • Knowledge of control cabinets

  • Experience with high voltage systems and schematic interpretation

  • Proficiency in working with automated equipment

  • Ability to perform welding and use pipe fitting tools

  • Knowledge of Siemens PLC and Allen-Bradley systems

  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics

  • Graduate of a vocational/technical school in an electrical/electronic craft with at least two years of electrical experience in an industrial environment OR some post-secondary education in electronic/electrical craft with four years of electrical experience in an industrial environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for PLC systems

  • Ability to work with control cabinets

  • Experience with Siemens PLC and Allen-Bradley systems

  • Knowledge of high voltage systems and schematics

  • Experience with automated equipment

Work Environment

This position operates on the 3rd shift, from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday. The work environment is a clean distribution center, offering a consistent 40-hour work week year-round.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Zanesville, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $34.00/hr.
