Rise Baking Company Continuous Improvement Specialist in York, Pennsylvania

Job Purpose

Successfully execute performance improvements across the York facility. Serve as a data analysis and operations resource to deliver improved plant performance through training, process improvement, and appropriate continuous improvement activities.

Essential Functions

  • Support the continuous improvement program and all operational and workplace organization standards

  • Utilize appropriate continuous improvement methodologies to optimize asset and employee effectiveness

  • Support and/or implement reliability improvement plans for manufacturing assets

  • Develop and maintain reporting systems that allow data driven decisions and identify necessary improvement activities

  • Provide operational expertise for capital projects to ensure commitments are met

  • Support new product commercialization initiatives for operations

  • Oversee cost improvement efforts including manufacturing/operations, warehouse, and planning departments

  • Support plant leadership in annual operating and capital plan development

  • Facilitate training to leadership and associates for key problem-solving/continuous improvement methodology tools

  • Assist team in creating and sustaining an environment of continuous improvement and fact-based decision making

  • Support food safety program, quality standards, and legality of manufactured products

  • Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education/Experience)

  • High school diploma required; college degree in business or science preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or distribution required; experience in food manufacturing preferred

  • Experience with training and coaching problem solving and continuous improvement methods

  • Complex problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent computer skills including MS office, statistical analysis and project management tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong knowledge of product quality, FDA, OSHA and EPA regulations
