Reference #: WD30234832 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED

Obtains appropriate paperwork or drawings for each coil/header. Positions header parts in jigs or fixtures on table & clamps parts together. Selects torch, torch tip, filler rod and flux, according to material being brazed. Connects regulator valves and hoses to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders, and brazing torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch and adjusts gas mixture and pressure, to obtain desired flame. Holds torch at proper angle to metal and guides along braze joint, applying filler rod to molten area to form weld. Examines braze joint for leaks. Locates and repairs leaks in header or coil assembly. Applies, and fills out if necessary, all required coil/header labels. Builds tall coils (i.e. assembles coil halves together). Signs off shop floor paperwork signifying completion of job. Trains new or existing employees if necessary. Wears all required personal protective equipment. Cleans work area at end of shift. Responsible for reporting work related injuries and near misses to supervision. Responsible for wearing all required PPE and following applicable safety/environmental rules. Responsible for correcting or reporting unsafe conditions observed within the plant.
