Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Safety Manager to ensure communication and compliance with state safety protocols.
Schedule, train, mentor, and coach drivers, including utilizing Mobile Manager Coaching to ensure performance and safety standards
Ensure compliance with Child Check procedures to safeguard all students.
Utilize Zonar technology for vehicle inspections and monitoring, addressing any identified issues
Serve as a liaison between drivers, clients, and organizations, handling customer service issues and ensuring clear communication
Assist in dispatching, driving, interviewing, and performing miscellaneous clerical tasks as needed.Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers clearly and effectively.
Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports and documenting safety violations
Observe drivers on the road, correcting safety issues on-site while documenting violations for follow-up
Analyze the root causes of accidents, incidents, and injuries; create and implement action plans to address specific safety concerns
Assist the Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance, including drug testing and recordkeepingDesign and deliver safety courses and driver training programs; retrain drivers involved in accidents or safety incidents.
Monitors driver pre and post-trip inspections and equipment issues and takes corrective action.
Performs driver road checks and observes drivers for work readiness.
Performs IPP Safety contacts with drivers; corrects safety violations on the scene.
Dispatches and drives routes as needed.
Assists management with driver interviews.
Monitors on-time performance.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred
Good verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience dealing with collision and injury claims a plus
Prior School Bus Driver experience preferred
Possess a working vehicle to travel within the service area as needed
