How you will contribute

You will partner to enable packaging strategies by defining the consumer problems to solve, through consumer research on ideal packaging and an understanding of the consumer value proposition. You’ll conduct competitive and market intelligence to embrace trends. Through this consumer and market lens you will identify the packaging technology landscape required to deliver the innovation or renovation, connecting with internal and external partners to leverage existing and new technologies and/or influence development within a technology space.

You will then independently coordinate technical work for global platforms in line with R&D, global / local marketing and manufacturing requirements across key markets. The responsibility includes effectively communicating status, risks and contingencies through proof of concept and proof of principle and transitioning the enabling technology and / or pack innovation to regions for deployment. In this role, you will also develop pack platform intellectual property strategies to define the right to win and competition.

To succeed in this role, you will use your understanding of pack material science, structural design, manufacturing capabilities and consumer / market intelligence to ensure that packaging platforms deliver category excellence to delight our consumers. You will be accountable for stakeholder management and influencing decisions based on conclusions derived from the analysis and interpretation of results.

Education / Certifications :

– Packaging Science – material development, functional specifications, stage gate development, capex program development, etc.

– Chemical Engineering / Mechanical engineering – pack process, material/equipment interaction, etc.

– Industrial Design – harmony of functionality, aesthetics, simplicity and innovation

Job specific requirements : Approximately 10 years experience in packaging development or related role.

Travel requirements : 10% travel
