We are currently looking for our future R&D Project Manager who will be based in Wabtec, Katy Wroclawskie or Schüttorf.

Who will you be working with?

You will be reporting to the Technology Director.

How will you make a difference?

As a R&D Project Manager you will manage the internal and EU funded R&D projects, ensuring Customer satisfaction, interfacing external and internal Stakeholders and reporting the status of the project to the Sponsor.

You will also be responsible for implementing and managing effective controls throughout the project lifecycle.

What do we want to know from you?

  • You have an Engineering/Business Degree and/or similar experience and minimum 5-8 years of Project Management Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • You have a good command of the English language (being able to speak German and polish is appreciated).

  • You have excellent communication skills to create a stable working environment for the core project team and other stakeholders.

  • You can lead problem-solving across projects and make timely decisions based on facts, circumstances, and needs.

  • You have already worked in an international environmental during your career.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to review project scopes and develop detailed project plans that outline and sequence the necessary activities for successful project completion.

  • Monitor and report project progress to all stakeholders, emphasizing any actual or potential variations in cost, time, or quality.

  • Deploy, maintain, and align the Quality Management Process for project activities, including Project Gate reviews.

  • Adhere to the objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) that will be used to evaluate the project's success upon completion (QCDP).

  • Identify and monitor project risks, threats, and opportunities, as well as the Contract Margin Improvement Plan; implement Mitigation/Capture Plans to address these and other project-related issues.

  • Establish and implement a Change Management process and update configurations (as Bid, as Sold, as Produced, as Maintained).

  • Lead the project closure process, capturing lessons learned to prevent recurring issues in future projects.

  • Assist and support the finance department to ensure the company's credit control policy is applied to assigned projects, highlighting any issues that may affect accounts receivable payments.
