We are currently seeking a Formulation Chemist to join our Ink Development team in Wood Dale IL.

In this role, the associate’s responsibilities would include:

  • The hands-on development of ink jet inks working within a cross functional team.

  • Developing project feasibility argument by demonstrating ink performance versus competitors.

  • Continually resolving problems at the point and tracking key project risks.

  • Following standard work (SOPs) and developing improved methods to yield better results.

  • Travelling to conduct customer field trials up to 10% of time.

  • Ensuring independent ownership and completion of goals on-time.

Education requirements:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in the chemistry, chemical engineering or related field.

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and travel internationally.

Prior experiences preferred:

  • Industrial work with direct involvement in new product development, particularly formulations.

  • Formulation technology including paints, coatings, adhesives, UV curable inks, etc.

  • Understanding of inkjet inks and/or ink jet printing systems is preferred, but not necessary.

Skills needed:

  • Safety – wholistic understanding of and respect for safe lab practices.

  • Verbal and written communication- ability to summarize technical results clearly and concisely for both internal team and customers.

  • Data analysis – using standard Excel statistical package, etc.

  • Problem solving ability to solve complex technical problems at the point.

  • Teamwork – ability to actively track and report work in a fast-paced environment.

  • International travel- flexibility and willingness to travel internationally.
