We are currently seeking a Formulation Chemist to join our Ink Development team in Wood Dale IL.
In this role, the associate’s responsibilities would include:
The hands-on development of ink jet inks working within a cross functional team.
Developing project feasibility argument by demonstrating ink performance versus competitors.
Continually resolving problems at the point and tracking key project risks.
Following standard work (SOPs) and developing improved methods to yield better results.
Travelling to conduct customer field trials up to 10% of time.
Ensuring independent ownership and completion of goals on-time.
Education requirements:
Minimum of a B.S. degree in the chemistry, chemical engineering or related field.
At least 2 years of relevant experience.
Authorized to work in the U.S. and travel internationally.
Prior experiences preferred:
Industrial work with direct involvement in new product development, particularly formulations.
Formulation technology including paints, coatings, adhesives, UV curable inks, etc.
Understanding of inkjet inks and/or ink jet printing systems is preferred, but not necessary.
Skills needed:
Safety – wholistic understanding of and respect for safe lab practices.
Verbal and written communication- ability to summarize technical results clearly and concisely for both internal team and customers.
Data analysis – using standard Excel statistical package, etc.
Problem solving – ability to solve complex technical problems at the point.
Teamwork – ability to actively track and report work in a fast-paced environment.
International travel- flexibility and willingness to travel internationally.
