Job Title: Firmware Engineer

Job Description

Under guidance from higher staff, implement algorithms and interfaces in FPGAs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and specifications as they relate to assigned tasking. Create and maintain design documentation and test plans. Near-term tasking may be related to RF systems for airborne applications, but you may be tasked on other applications as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Implement algorithms and interfaces in FPGAs under guidance from senior staff.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and specifications.

  • Create and maintain design documentation and test plans.

  • Support the design, development, and implementation of real-time processing solutions in software for advanced multi-function Radar systems.

  • Design and implement digital signal processing over the complete signal processing chain for radar applications in various operational environments.

  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on design, development, and test activities.

  • Prepare and deliver briefings, and participate in technical reviews (SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TIMS).

Essential Skills

  • Experience with FPGA and SoC design entry using Verilog or VHDL.

  • Experience with design flow for Xilinx and/or Intel FPGAs.

  • Proficiency with simulation tools such as ModelSim/Questa, VCS, or Incisive.

  • Demonstrated experience in delivery of advanced development hardware.

  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment, often under tight deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of applicable experience; Master’s degree and at least 3 years of applicable experience; or PhD. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of and experience with RF systems and their principles of design, development, requirements verification, test planning, test execution, and data analysis.

  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.

  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: radar systems, electronic warfare, microwave engineering, analog and digital signal processing, embedded software development, physics modeling and simulation.

  • Experience with Matlab, Python, or C/C++.

  • Experience with interfacing to high speed DACs and ADCs.

  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing.

Work Environment

Flexible work-life balance with a hybrid option. Must be able to commute to the office as needed for program requirements. Locations include Woburn, MA, Dayton, OH, Arlington, VA, or Melbourne, FL. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/hr.
