We are looking for a Lab Technician at our new Citrus Innovation Center in Lakeland, Florida.
Your Focus
In the capacity of a Lab Technician - Sampling, your role will be to assist different teams by performing fundamental laboratory tasks. A significant portion of your duties will involve managing the coordination of producing, packing, dispatching, and accepting deliveries of flavor and fragrance samples, as well as test products and materials. You will also offer support in logistics and inventory management for the entire citrus center.
This position demands excellent organizational skills and a strong commitment to safety. The job necessitates on-site work attendance.
How you will contribute
Compounding flavors and fragrances through precise weighing, blending, mixing, and filtering of chemicals in accordance with detailed guidelines. You’ll oversee the quality assurance process prior to dispatching samples and manage the shipment of flavor samples according to specific directives, updating the inventory system accordingly.
Guaranteeing the accuracy of sample labelling, paperwork, and traceability, as well as upkeeping the documentation for Flavorists and Perfumers using designated systems.
Printing and affixing the necessary labels on stock containers, incoming Quality/Reference samples, and outbound shipping samples.
Taking charge of the receipt of lab consumables and spare parts for equipment, along with maintaining the inventory.
Demonstrating the ability and readiness to collaborate with the team to address issues, create procedures, propose enhancements, and offer support to other departments when needed.
Ensuring a secure work environment by using the correct safety gear, personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively contributing to the safety culture of the department.
Keeping the processing area and equipment clean, hygienic, and orderly; complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and possessing knowledge of food safety and occupational health and safety/environmental health and safety (OHS/EHS) standards.
Managing the site’s material inventory as required.
Assisting colleagues during peak workload times.
Job Requirements
Job requirements
High school graduate or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
1-3 year lab experience is preferred
HAZMAT small quantity shipping experience preferred.
Relevant quality testing
Basic Math, Strong Verbal & Communication skills
Highly organized/Attention to detail
Agile at multitasking in a fast paced, high odor, team-oriented environment.
Knowledge of Excel and Word
SAP Knowledge preferred.
Must be safety and quality focused.
Ability to lift 25 kg containers.
