Speedway LLC Supervisor of Transport Scheduling and Planning in Winston Salem, North Carolina

  • Supervises, hires, trains, evaluates and motivates the Transport Scheduling and Planning team; directs the daily work of direct reports

  • Oversees the daily load plans and scheduling to ensure customer service levels are met and strives to meet the goal of zero outages

  • Collaborates with internal partners to ensure that inventory supply is managed and dispatched appropriately; plans deliveries based on store inventory levels and forecasted sales in order to meet business demands

  • Identifies root cause analysis in the event of an outage and completes outage protocol; provides timely communication of critical events that need to be considered and/or addressed by Management

  • Maintains working knowledge of federal, state, and local rules and regulations, including, but not limited to, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Department of Transportation (DOT); ensures drivers are in compliance with all applicable regulations and/or internal policies

  • Identifies process changes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations accordingly

  • Provides expertise at various meetings by attending and presenting data as needed

  • Develops and presents reports regarding performance and financial impact as needed

  • Creates and administers departmental operating expense budgets and sets priorities for spending based upon Company guidelines and strategies

  • Develops training programs for dispatchers on department policies and procedures; ensures proper completion and documentation of training requirements and computer-based trainings

  • Ensures staff coverage 24 hours per day, seven days per week

  • Develops subordinates and recommends placement in positions suitable for their career progression; conducts performance appraisals and recommends salary consideration for personnel

  • Completes other duties as assigned by Management
