Novant Health Field Services Asset Specialist - Triad Region in Winston Salem, North Carolina

Job Summary

Manages inventory and procurement processes for end-user computing devices across multiple stockrooms. Ensures accurate asset tracking and alignment with IT governance and lifecycle management policies. Must be self-sufficient and possess the technical / administrative aptitude to complete daily time management and technical formalities. Responsible for securely managing information systems throughout their lifecycle, including; knowing what information systems are within their scope of responsibility, understanding what sensitive data is stored, transmitted, or processed on those information systems, enforcing the security principles of least privilege and least functionality, knowing what events may constitute an information security incident, and understanding their role in security incident response activities. Provides comprehensive life-cycle end-user device services that support our team member’s ability to deliver remarkable patient experiences every time. Provides world-class customer experiences, seeking to delight our team members by understanding their needs, providing the right solution the first time, preventing issues from occurring and timely resolution of problems if they arise. Provides on-site and remote services to every team member, supports corporate devices, including computers, laptops, printers, and mobile devices across the organization and multiple states, whether they work at one of our facilities or from home.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the full lifecycle of Field Services hardware assets from procurement to disposal.

  • Maintains inventory accuracy across multiple physical and virtual stockrooms.

  • Issues and receives purchase orders in ERP systems.

  • Ensures timely fulfillment of hardware requests and project needs.

  • Troubleshoots hardware issues and coordinate warranty repairs.

  • Collaborates with Field Services leadership to align asset processes with organizational policies.

  • Provides hardware asset reporting to leadership.

  • Trains Field Services staff on asset management best practices.

  • Troubleshoots complex hardware issues escalated by other team members, including communicating and working with external vendors as needed.

  • Manages and oversee on site vendor repairs.

  • Provides knowledge and training on hardware repair and maintenance to other IT team members.

  • Manages hardware repairs, including ordering parts, completing repairs, and coordinating the return of equipment back to the end user.

  • Acts as good stewards of company resources by finding the best solution at the most efficient cost point.

  • Installs and configures operating systems and software. This includes making recommendations and implementing upgrades to existing equipment to current standards.

  • Drives efficiency in the procurement, configuration, and delivery of end-user devices including laptops, desktops, printers, phones, and related hardware.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School or GED Required

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Preferred

    Experience

  • 3 (three) years of technical experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience working in healthcare information technology or a similarly complex environment

    Licensure/Certifications

  • Dell Tech Direct Certification or Equivalent, Required

  • CompTIA A+, Preferred

  • CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certifications Preferred

  • Ability to travel between campus buildings and to remote facilities as needed

  • Ability to handle on-call responsibilities as directed

  • An affinity for providing exceptional customer service and continuous improvement.

  • Forecasts and provisions technology assets in alignment with clinical workflows, operational growth, and lifecycle planning needs.

    Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred)

  • Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.

  • Stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions

  • Strength to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds
