Millerbernd Manufacturing Co. Learning and Development (L&D) Manager (onsite role) in Winsted, Minnesota

NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is hiring a Learning & Development (L&D) Manager to join our team! The Learning & Development (L&D) Manager will be accountable for overseeing, developing and maintaining leadership, technical and professional training. The position will consult with department leaders to determine specific training needs and work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the company to develop course content for comprehensive training programs. This is an onsite role based in Winsted, Minnesota.

As a L&D Manager, you will:

  • Manage technical training including our welding programs. Ensure programs have strong participation and uphold the highest level of technical standards. Provides leadership to welding instructor.

  • Manage the day to day leadership programs for the Company. Continue to validate our programs drive a servant leadership culture.

  • Creates or leverages external content as a result of assessing training needs. Utilizes vendors as needed

  • Lead the implementation and ongoing support of the LMS (Learning Management System). Ensure the platform is user friendly, provides content necessary to support the business and delivers reporting capabilities.

  • Oversees on the job training processes, recordkeeping and drives our OJT strategy including new hire orientation content, checklists, process & machine certifications, etc.

  • Responsible for customer required employee training certifications

  • Provide creative, effective virtual and in-person instructor-led training (V/ILT) throughout the organization. Facilitate learning via classroom instruction and webinars; incorporate a variety of presentation methods and applications to accommodate adult learning styles. Identify optimal facilitation medium for successful delivery; e.g., eLearning, PowerPoint Presentation, Video, and/or User Guides.

  • Create and implement follow up programs to ensure material understanding. Tracks, measures and reports on training effectiveness and ongoing gaps.

  • Effectively interface with IT team to use technology for delivery and tracking of ongoing training needs.

  • Establish and maintain and relationships with external training vendors as needed.

  • Maintain contact with key departments to keep abreast of any upcoming changes or initiatives that would affect the current training programs.

    Role Qualifications as a L&D Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field

  • 3+ years' experience in learning and development or talent management

  • 3+ years of experience professionally developing and facilitating training programs for small and large audiences

  • Experience directing, implementing, and maintaining an LMS system

  • Demonstrated experience being confident and effective in presenting to large groups and/or individuals

  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, needs analysis, modern learning methods, learning design, and evaluation methodology

  • Ability to influence, build effective relationships and gain alignment with peers, leaders and/or external partners to accomplish business objectives

  • Capability to effectively plan and set priorities; ability to manage several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

  • Communicate effectively, listen sensitively, and adapt communication to audience and fosters effective communication with others

  • Ability to work with others and collaborate effectively

  • Bi-lingual is a plus
