Robert Half Cost Accountant in Wilsonville, Oregon

Description

We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Wilsonville, OR. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial operations, including cost accounting, revenue recognition, and inventory management. Responsibilities:

• Perform cost accounting functions, including analyzing and managing cost data to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Record and reconcile over and under billings to maintain precise accounting records.

• Manage inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate tracking and valuation of materials.

• Oversee revenue recognition activities in compliance with applicable standards.

• Close work orders and ensure all associated costs and revenues are properly allocated.

• Analyze sales data and revenue trends to provide insights for decision-making.

• Review monthly material usage and labor hours to ensure proper project cost allocation.

• Handle month-end closing tasks, including booking entries into COGS and reconciling inventory balances.

• Manage accounting for fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and asset tracking.

• Oversee prepaid expense accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software/ERP systems.

• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.

• Demonstrated experience in revenue recognition and inventory accounting.

• Expertise in performing month-end close activities and reconciling financial data.

• Familiarity with fixed assets accounting, including tracking and depreciation.

• Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
