Job Description
The Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) – Level 1 shall have full oversight of the safety program initiatives at CMI’s customer site in Wilmington, NC. Requirements for this role are set by the EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements Manual.
Key Job Functions
Oversight and implementation of the Accident Prevention Plan
Prepare and enforce the client safety program
Conduct personnel and equipment inspections daily
Conduct safety orientations and meetings with personnel at the jobsite
Conduct mishap investigations
Maintain applicable safety reference material at the jobsite
Attend pre-construction conference, pre- work meetings, and three phase inspection meetings
Other safety related duties as required by the contract
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in related field
At least (5) five years of cumulative safety experience within the past 10 years, managing or implementing a SOH program on a project of similar type, size and complexity as CMI’s customer project.
Current OSHA 30-hour general industry or construction safety training
24 hours of documented formal classroom or online Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) -related training within the past 5 years
Ability to speak, read, and comprehend English to effectively perform these job functions and comply with installation emergency procedures
