Danaher Corporation Manager, Trade Compliance in Wijchen, Netherlands

The Trade Compliance Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics plays a critical role to ensure the company’s imports and exports are conducted in accordance with the rules and regulatory requirements of Customs authorities and other applicable governmental agencies. This role will act as a primary point of contact for inquiries and escalations from Beckman Coulter Diagnostics’ sites and other stakeholder groups.

In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the relevant trade compliance policies and procedures manuals and standard work documents necessary to successfully manage import and export operations.

  • Lead and/or support various other related trade compliance or broader supply chain projects and initiatives.

  • Monitor and improve data integrity with regards to Customs documentation, product classification, country of origin, valuation, free trade agreement eligibility, etc.

  • Assist the company in preparing, submitting, tracking, and/or monitoring certificates of origin documentation and special permits as required for the import or export of goods.

  • Effectively interact with multiple government agencies and support external Customs audits as required.

  • Monitor import and export operations and perform and/or administer internal audits/risk assessments of import and export transactions.

  • Identify and lead corrective action plans related to process deficiencies, KPI improvements, and broker management.

  • Monitor and communicate Customs and Trade Compliance Regulatory Changes.

  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on trade compliance requirements and practices.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years’ experience OR Master’s degree with 7+ years’ experience in Law, International business OR Economics is preferred (or equivalent). The years of experience must be in import and export operations and/or global trade compliance related roles.

  • Minimum or 2 years of people management (direct line) responsibility in an operational role.

  • Experience analyzing and interpreting export and import rules and regulations.

  • Fluent in Dutch and English

  • In-depth knowledge of import and export regulations and related operations.

  • Experience working with global trade management (GTM) software platforms.

  • Understanding of global supply chain and logistics processes
