Overview / Job Summary:\ The Healthcare Specialist works within the Future Ready Center assisting in the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of the center. The specialist is the main contact in assisting high school dual credit students regarding FRC enrollment, healthcare career navigation and assisting in the implementation of retention plans to assist students in progressing towards degree completion. The Specialist also works with WSU Tech\'s high school advisors to track and enroll EMT, Patient Care Tech and Short Term Health high school students.\ \ Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:\

  • Serves as a liaison between WSU Tech and USD 259s College and Career Readiness Office while assisting with coordination and communication with faculty and staff
  • Develops and facilitates relationships with students, staff and faculty to further the goals and mission of the Future Ready Center Healthcare Center.
  • Builds relationships with students to facilitate successful completion of program certifications.
  • Provides educational planning and support for basic career pathway exploration and job placement within the healthcare professions.
  • Completes employment status reporting via email and phone surveys with WSU Tech graduates. Performs data entry of survey results into database.
  • Performs placement surveys, following up with students completing certifications or if continuing education.
  • Maintains records of student activities and reports required performance measures to Project Manager.

It includes aiding in setting achievable goals for student retention, persistence, and completion, aligned with the institution\'s mission and student body. Additionally, the position offers guidance on resources from the WSU Tech Career Services department, refers students to community resources for success, maintains relationships with clinical sites, and ensures effective communication between students and employers through proactive inquiries and follow-ups.
