Overview / Job Summary:
As a Faculty member in the Surgical Technology program at WSU Tech, you will play a crucial role in educating and training the next generation of surgical technologists. Your expertise in surgical procedures and techniques will help prepare students for successful careers in the operating room, ensuring they possess the skills necessary to support surgical teams effectively.
Your day-to-dayresponsibilitieswill vary, but are not limited to:
- Developing and delivering engaging curriculum that meets the needs of students and the standards of the profession.
- Instructing students in both classroom and clinical settings, ensuring they gain hands-on experience with surgical techniques and instruments.
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and performance, providing timely feedback on assignments and assessments.
- Collaborating with healthcare facilities to arrange clinical placements for students and ensuring compliance with clinical requirements.
- Staying current with advancements in surgical technology and incorporating new practices into the curriculum.
- Has and maintains current American Heart Association or RedCross CPR certification for healthcare providers.
- Obtains at own expense yearly TB test and other immunizations or physical examinations as required by clinical sites.
- Thorough knowledge of the proper safety and handling of materials used in the field.
- Previous teaching or training experience in adult educationpreferred.
