Job Title: Assembly Associate

Job Description

As an Assembly Associate in our Plant 4 Production department, you will be responsible for completing assembly tasks according to process specifications, resident planning, and blueprints for sheet metal parts.

Responsibilities

  • Verify tooling is correct

  • Load details into tool

  • Load drill bars for drilling

  • Load details into jig for drilling

  • Remove drill bars from tool

  • Remove drilled spar assembly

  • Ream close tolerance holes

  • Inspect close tolerance

  • Clean and prep for sealing technique

  • Apply appropriate sealant

  • Cleco the sealed assembly together

  • Install fasteners

  • Remove and clean excess sealant from assembly

  • Call for final inspection

  • Fill out paperwork per the work order for each completed process

  • Seek guidance and direction as necessary for performance duties

  • Keep the supervisor/manager informed about the status of work and potential problems as early as possible

  • Report to work on time each day, after lunch, and not leave early

  • Maintain the work area in a neat and orderly manner

  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance appropriate for the position and situation

  • Respect the confidentiality of the company, customer, and personnel information

  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Blueprint reading class

  • 1 year of Rivet/Sheet Metal Assembly experience preferred

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Sealing techniques

  • Proficiency with applicable measurement instruments

  • Rivet/Sheet Metal Assembly

  • Close Tolerance Reaming

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to evaluate wing spar assembly and components to determine assembly worthiness and derive solutions

  • 1-year riveting and assembly in aviation

  • Experience in aviation manufacturing

Work Environment

The work environment includes an air-conditioned and heated plant. Safety goggles, protective gloves (anti-vibration and cut-resistant), and hearing protection are required. You will be working in a production/assembly setting, specifically focused on windows and sub-assemblies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
