HOSPICE OF WICHITA FALLS INC C.N.A. - Center 7p-7a in WICHITA FALLS, Texas
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or recipient of G.E.D. preferred.
Texas Nurse Aide Certification preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 3 hours appropriate in-service completed each quarter.
Basic knowledge of Windows-based programs and previous computer experience is required.
Has not had a lapse of 24 consecutive months where the aide has not provided services for compensation.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to understand the physical, psychosocial, spiritual concerns, and dynamics of terminally ill patients and families.
Ability to relate well with patients, families, community at large and fellow health care professionals.
Ability to read and write.
Ability to communicate effectively, both, orally and in writing.
Ability to follow specific directions related to personal care tasks
Ability to perform light housekeeping duties.
Ability to complete thirty (30) hours of hospice training.
Ability to be at work, alert/awake, as scheduled.
Ability to advance in computer knowledge.
Demonstrates the ability to problem solve.
Demonstrate competency as defined.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provides or assists with personal care, as a part of the total plan of care, including, but not limited to the following:
Assist in the management of a team through effective communication and coordination of care with the Team and Supervisor
Activities of daily living, such as, personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, feeding and toileting.
Greet visitors as they come into the Inpatient Center
Escort visitors to patient rooms.
Maintain food handlers License.
