Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated CNC Machinist to operate manual/CNC and mill/lathe machines to produce metal valve and regulator parts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and precision of produced parts, performing basic troubleshooting, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
Operate manual/CNC and mill/lathe machines to produce metal valve and regulator parts.
Start machines, position and secure workpiece, and engage bar feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms.
Read blueprints and understand symbols for concentricity, runout, surface finish, machined/non-machined surfaces, seat areas, and dimensions.
Detect product defects, contain defects, and resolve issues.
Work through machine malfunctions, perform basic troubleshooting, and make minor adjustments as necessary.
Replace dull or worn tooling in machines using hand tools.
Remove burrs, sharp edges, and tool marks from products using files, hand grinders, wire brushes, and power tools.
Perform quality checks by collecting measurements and dimensions using calipers, go/no go gages, micrometers, height gages, thread gages, concentricity gages, and other measuring tools.
Enter quality control data using the Statistical Process Control System.
Perform minor preventative maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs.
Actively participate in the ECI 6S program centered around work area safety (organization, standardization, and cleanliness) throughout the shift.
Actively participate in continuous improvement events focused on the safety practices related to individuals and processes within the manufacturing warehouse.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with machine operation, set up, and changeover.
Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
Understanding of CNC operations and blueprint reading.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
Experience with 5 axis, Haas, Mori, G code, GM code, and change over processes.

Work Environment
This is a standard production environment that is very safety-oriented with clear SOPs. It is a clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled facility. Shift hours include 5 AM - 3 PM, Mon-Thurs (Overtime on Fridays), 3 PM – 1 AM, Mon-Thurs (Overtime on Fridays), and 7 AM - 7 PM, with the possibility of training on the first shift to start.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WHITSETT, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $32.00/hr.
