Job Summary:

The Fleet Maintenance Manager role m anages the overall day-to-day operation of the Whistler Blackcomb tune, repair and maintenance locations for both ski equipment and bikes, including our traditional rental fleet, in addition, to the My Epic Gear fleet. This position is responsible for merchandising, financial management, staff supervision and overall store management. Oversees hiring, training, coaching and scheduling of store personnel. Responsible for sales generation and growth, inventory control, controllable expenses, cash management, merchandising, loss prevention and store appearance.

As the Fleet Maintenance Manager, this job oversees the operations of our high-volume overseeing guest ski, snowboard, bike repair/tuning and our traditional ski, snowboard and bike fleet, as well as the My Epic Gear fleet.

Job Specifications:

  • Expected Pay: $58,240 - $70,720 CAD + annual bonus

  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time

  • Outlet: Whistler Blackcomb tune, repair and maintenance locations

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the service and tuning of customer, My Epic Gear and rental skis/snowboards/bikes according to established guidelines. Maintain our reputation of quality equipment tuning and repair.

  • Lead daily tune shop operations, while coordinating with other departments on tune-repair needs

  • Recruit, hire, train, coach and maintain a quality core tuning and maintenance center

  • Monitor team performance and behavior to provide meaningful feedback and direction, providing recognition or correction action if necessary

  • Ordering tune shop supplies and maintaining tune shop machinery.

  • Adhere to and enforce safety procedures according to policies and standards.

  • Manages a team of up to 35 frontline staff and Assistant Managers across multiple locations.

  • Partner with leadership to gather feedback and input on store performance, training, and continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Partner with local market Rental Operations Manager on tuning plans and priorities leading upto and during the season.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of team management experience

  • A minimum of 2 years prior ski and snowboard tuning experience or background

  • A minimum of 2 years prior bike maintenance and tuning experience or background

  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a truck on roads through adverse winter conditions, in and out of tight alleys and through very busy pedestrian areas

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Work Experience

  • Direct supervisory experience

  • Proficient in MS Office Products; Excel, Work, Outlook and Power Point

  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal

  • Self-Motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Team-building skills

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information

  • Rental store operation/management experience highly preferred

The expected pay range is $58,240 - $70,720 CAD + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
