Title: Retail Associate (Faith-Based Nonprofit) Location: [Wheeling, WV]
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our faith-based nonprofit organization as a retail associate. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to our faith-based values and be willing to engage in physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting.
Responsibilities:
- Support the transportation and distribution of goods and supplies to underserved communities, including loading and unloading trucks or vans.
- Provide assistance to individuals in need, offering a helping hand and compassionate support.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all facilities and equipment.
- Uphold the values and principles of our faith-based organization in all interactions and activities.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to position.
- Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and community members to foster positive relationships and promote collaboration.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when engaging in physically demanding tasks, prioritizing the well-being of oneself and others.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the organizational leadership.
Qualifications:
Strong alignment with the mission and values of our faith-based nonprofit organization. Ability to engage in physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy objects (including very heavy furniture items). Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach to serving others. Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility and dedication to the role. Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and a positive attitude. Previous experience in retail, non-profit, or a related field is preferred but not required. Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
