Position Title: Color Specialist - NIGHTS
Job Summary : Coordinates the completion of batches in a timely fashion to meet scheduling needs of the production floor, as established by the Job Flow team. Works closely with the Wax Prep Specialists providing component review, color review, and final authorization of scent time to ensure a quality product. Coordinates the completion of all batches with the Senior Machine Operators to ensure minimum dwell time and continuous filling operation. Covers areas (rotation basis)requiring specificity and detailed accuracy, such as the Spectro Room (color analysis/approval of all batches) and the Dye room (metering of all dye formulas). Optimize use of resources including materials, labor, and equipment by improving efficiency, analytically assessing the work load, and assigning tasks to Wax Prep staff as required.
Performs all activities of a Wax Prep safely, following all SOP’s and policies when required by the needs of the department.
Support Wax Prep team with approvals of dye, scent, and formula review as requested and in the most efficient manner possible.
Provide visual color approval when necessary. (Passing Color Test Required) Review documentation for accuracy. Use prioritization to cover multiple areas when necessary, communicating clearly to team.
Responsible for but not limited to operating dye dispersion equipment including sample collection and review, system validation. Meter dye combinations per task list, with impeccable accuracy. Perform Color assessment test using Spectrophotometer.
Acts as area leader on the floor. Assign resources as required to ensure their most efficient use including materials, labor, and equipment. Maintain close connection with Production team to ensure Work is being completed in the most effective manner. Maintain a smooth flow of work in the area and a keen awareness of the pace of the production line. Initiate conversations when situations appear to have varied from the current understanding. Complete reporting as required.
Troubleshoot manual and automated equipment including hand tools, pumps, application systems, dye metering etc. related to component blending systems. Complete Quality checks where established.
Participate actively in Continuous Improvement of the department, engaging other team members to do the same. Participate in department improvement initiatives, correctables and teams as necessary.
Communicate effectively and develop strong working relationships with Wax Prep team, Manufacturing teams, Logistics teams, and Laboratory teams including hourly staff and salaried leadership. Represents the department at production huddles, shift start-up, etc. Present ideas and information to small groups as well as at Department meetings.
Works safely in order to help preserve the safety and health of coworkers, guests and visitors as well as their own. Follows all Company safety/accident policies and procedures and adheres to all applicable safety laws and regulations. Notifies management promptly of any safety hazards/violations or accidents/injuries. Participates in safety training. Properly uses and maintains Personal Protective Equipment.
Flexibility in work schedule is also required for possible overtime, work on holidays, weekends and extended hours with minimal notice and as required by operational need.
