Robert Half HR Generalist in Westport, Massachusetts
Description If you love Human Resources and you're looking for an exciting, new Generalist opportunity, Robert Half has the opportunity for you as a Human Resources Generalist. In this role, you will perform various HR duties, including recruiting, conducting new hire orientation, updating the employee handbook, and managing employee relations.
Responsibilities
Responsible for completing various tasks to support the daily operations of the HR department
Evaluate employee performance, including appraising pay scales, assisting with annual reviews, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
Differentiate local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures
Create & /or support a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections
Draft templates for various HR documents, including the Employee Handbook
Maintain physical and digital files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
Collaborate with employees, upper management, and third-party vendors
Create onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
Collaborate with other HR team members to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
Manage employee relations, which may include finding new ways to engage employees or coordinating sensitive conversations
Develop official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
Create employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite Requirements
Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and projects
Prior experience implementing and coordinating Open Enrollment is a plus
-ADP Workforce Now experience a must
-Process Payroll
Full cycle recruiting experience
Strong understanding local, state and federal laws
B.A. or B.S. degree preferred, preferably with a Human Resources or Psychology emphasis
Proficient with social media platforms as well as office computer applications and software
Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
Excellent written and verbal business skills
- You should be highly professional; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity
Prior HR Generalist experience
