We now require a Packaging Technical Lead to join our team at AbbVie Westport. As our new Packaging Technical Lead, you will act as subject matter expert (SME) to provides in-depth knowledge of global packaging and track-n-trace (TnT) business operations, IT/OT equipment and system/data solutions deployed across our global network. Leverage existing enterprise assets (processes, applications, data, technology); you will ensure compliance with intended strategies and priorities, serving as an advisor and thought leader for Packaging systems interface and integration, including but not limited to Smart Packaging and Connected Plant digitization support and enablement.

Your New Role:

  • Assess and identify improvement opportunities at the Network, Site and Line level.

  • Demonstrate creative 'out of the box thinking to solve difficult problems and champion new technologies to achieve project goals.

  • Act as SME across a wide range of packaging systems and operations including Serialization, Aggregation, SKU conversion, Packaging OEE optimization, data integration, data visualization and analysis, obsolescence, systems lifecycle and machine learning.

  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical business and utilize this knowledge to advance agile, impactful, and cost-effective solutions.

  • Build relationships within and across our global network and TPM’s, vendors, and industry peers in accordance with Abbvie Values, Vendor Management Office, and Purchasing to further the organisation's mission, vision, and goals.

  • Work with Business Technology Systems (BTS) and business leaders to architect a technology strategy to meet current and future requirements.

  • Take the lead on multiple IT and OT teams across diverse systems and platforms (Antares, PCE, Uhlmann, Optel, Marchesini) that support strategic cross-functional initiatives with enterprise-level system dependencies.

  • Implement strategic global technology initiatives that help to facilitate manufacturing, packaging and supply chain connected systems and shop floor insights.

  • Enable consolidation of systems with similar capabilities and centralization of data across the organization.

  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies, including code of conduct, safety, GxP compliance, data security, and the software development lifecycle.

  • Effectively organize and present project objectives and progress. Contribute to technical publications and presentations.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and at least 10 years relevant experience OR Master’s degree in relevant field and at least 5 years experience.

  • Project Management experience.

  • Experience incorporating new methods and technologies, keeping updated on industry developments and standards.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

  • Able to effectively lead and facilitate meetings across diverse and distributed cross-functional teams, be outcome-focused and detail-oriented.

  • Exceptional teamwork skills and customer empathy.
