Position Summary
We are looking for a creative, talented, and self-starting intern to temporarily join our Applications Group to work on special projects that utilize our software in new and innovative ways. Gamma Technologies develops GT-SUITE and GT-AutoLion. GT-SUITE is a sophisticated desktop software packages for simulating almost any kind of engineering multi-physics system, such as those arising in the automotive, aerospace, and other industries, involving fluid, thermal, mechanical, electromagnetics, chemical and controls elements. GT-AutoLion, built upon the Newman Pseudo-2D framework, provides an additional physics-based model of Lithium-ion and Lithium-metal cells for modeling performance, degradation, and safety of energy storage systems. These tools also utilize sophisticated user interfaces, including map-based and 3D-based pre- and post-processors.
Specifically, you would join our Electrical Applications team focusing on electric powertrains and energy storage devices.
Qualifications:
- Carry out proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate cutting edge software solutions in the area of battery modeling and electrification
- Calibrate GT-AutoLion electrochemical battery models to experimental battery data
Education, Experience and Skills
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), or Doctorate (PhD) program in engineering, with a focus on mechanical, chemical, or energy engineering, or materials science.
- Minimum 2 years completed in undergraduate studies
- Basic exposure to battery technology and ideally battery modeling techniques
