As we expand our team, we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic workforce. Position Overview: The Heavy Equipment Operator will play a pivotal role in our construction projects by operating heavy machinery to lay water and sewer pipes efficiently and accurately. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing tasks according to project plans, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring the integrity of underground utilities. Responsibilities:

1. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and trenchers to excavate trenches for water and sewer pipe installation.
2. Follow project blueprints and specifications to determine the layout and depth of trenches.
3. Safely load, transport, and unload pipe sections and other materials using heavy machinery.
4. Utilize equipment attachments and accessories to perform precise digging, grading, and leveling.
5. Collaborate with construction crew members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
6. Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify any maintenance needs.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including equipment storage areas and construction sites.
8. Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations at all times to prevent accidents and injuries.
9. Monitor underground utilities and adjust equipment operations to avoid damage to existing infrastructure.
10. Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and subcontractors to coordinate tasks and resolve issues as they arise.

Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry, with a focus on water and sewer pipe installation preferred.
2. Valid driver's license.
3. Proficiency in operating various types of heavy machinery, including excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and trenchers.
4. Ability to interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
5. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues.
6. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness to maneuver heavy equipment in tight spaces.
7. Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
8. Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
9. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
10. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in heavy equipment operation is a plus.
