Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre in Biggin Hill is part of an award-winning network and is the flagship of Bombardier’s European operation. This Base and Line Maintenance Centre is the fastest-growing Service Centre in Europe and the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK. The facility has the capabilities to perform an array of maintenance checks, modifications and upgrades all from this site. In your role, you will

• Participate in the process of writing and maintaining Technique (method) sheets for the testing of components and aircraft to liaise with the Responsible Level 3 technician

• Understand and apply the company and industry statutory operational specifications (CMMs) for the evaluation of aircraft and components

• Test and verify the conditions of a range of components and Aeronautical structures, ensuring that all inspections are performed promptly in accordance with the relevant current maintenance data, whilst maintaining a high level of detail

• Use the Bombardier Integrated Quality Management System

• Be required to maintain a Practical Experience Record (PER) book and maintain “hours” across all disciplines

• Maintain a good level of NDT knowledge and prepare for assessments and examinations as required

• Work and contribute to the team within the area, managing their certification to keep it current and valid. You will attend internal and external training courses, as required, to maintain and develop the relevance of their certification

• Perform other duties as directed by the Wheelshop Team Leader, Workshops Operation Manager, or the Responsible Level 3

• Interface with Operations functions and attend meetings as required

• Constantly monitor operating methods to facilitate both qualitative and quantitative improvements in the service provided to the customer

• Ensure full and effective liaison is maintained with all departments that are affected directly or indirectly by the assigned area of responsibility

• Work within established company policies, procedures, and agreements and ensure compliance with the relevant standards including (but not limited to) EN4179

• Have awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company’s environmental procedures.

• Be required to train personnel within a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience

As our ideal candidate,

• You have the ability to conduct Eddy Current Inspection (ET) EN4179/NAS410 Level 2, Fluorescent Penetrant Inspections (PT) EN4179/NAS410 Level 2, Ultrasonic Inspection (UT) EN4179/NAS410 Level 2 and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MT) EN4179/NAS410 Level 2

• You have good IT user knowledge (e.g., SAP or similar business software, Microsoft Office Excel)

• You have basic knowledge of EASA/CAA/FAA requirements and other applicable aviation regulation and are able to raise a Form 1

• You have knowledge of Health and Safety working practice

• You are a good communicator- ability to communicate with staff on business, and other issues that affect the business.

• You have good planning, organising, and administration skills and are PC literate

• You are able perform under pressure and make critical decisions

• You have a profound level of problem-solving skills

• You have a willingness to learn new skills to help the Company achieve its targets

• You are able to communicate with all levels of Management

• You must be a strong team player willing to improve and learn methods and processes with the attitude to pass on knowledge and help with the improvement of the working environment within the NDT department.
