The Salvation Army Production Assistant (Temporary) in West Nyack, New York

The Communications department has an opening for a Production Assistant (Temporary/Seasonal). As a member of the event team, this creative and problem-solving individual will support various aspects of live ev ents productions that convey the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When not on set or on a live events production, this individual will support in preparation of materials, equipment and logistics as well as the support of the video team. The position is from May 2025 to August 2025.

Based in West Nyack, NY this position requires approximately 35 hours of work per week and may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities

Live Events Team

  • Proficient in ProPresenter for building screen content at live events.

  • Gather information and create screen content for live event production.

  • Experience with livestream technology.

  • Familiar with event production processes.

  • Operate cameras effectively during live events.

  • Understand and monitor sound recording devices during events.

  • Serve as an ingest operator for live and pre-recorded productions, following the digital technician’s direction.

  • Be responsive and ready to take on any task during live events.

  • Communicate effectively with talent, crew, and the Live Events Director.

  • Provide support across all aspects of live events.

    Video Team

  • Knowledgeable with audio, video, and filming equipment, including grip gear, lighting, and camera support.

  • Assist with basic video editing and media organization tasks.

  • Produce, film, and edit daily event recaps.

  • High attention to detail in all aspects of production.

  • Work efficiently under pressure, adhering to director and producer guidance.

  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of live and non-live event productions.

  • Help maintain and repair production equipment alongside the live events and video teams.

  • Assist with studio management and operations.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite for editing and content creation.

    Both Teams

  • Must be available for travel, as well as weekend and night shifts.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • No prior experience.

  • Basic understanding of audio/video equipment; familiar with Blackmagic URSA Cameras, Canon DSLR’s, audio recording, proficient skills with Adobe Creative Suite, ProPresenter, and MS Office; must be Apple Computer proficient; work independently and communicate proficiently both orally and in writing with co-workers and vendors. Must be dependable and flexible, dedicated to creating the highest quality content possible.
