Job Description

Join The Naval Nuclear Laboratory team as a Project Manager in the Nuclear Test Operations (NTO) group! We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to drive the efficiency of testing through the application of project management principals. NTO executes test/manufacturing programs and maintains, designs, and installs complex testing and manufacturing equipment and laboratory infrastructure. This position will provide project management support of test programs, building services, larger infrastructure projects and installations, as well as engineering projects related to supporting "Horizon Planning" attributes to simply, innovate, and modernize. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical and operations background to support interactions with engineers, technicians, test sponsors, vendors, and management with minimal oversight and direction. The selected candidate will be performing the following functions: Lead teams in successfully moving laboratory projects through the project life cycle (initiating, planning, executing, and close out). Implement established project management processes into laboratory projects. Team with other Project Managers & Analysts within testing to improve existing processes, expectations, and culture. Lead the development and maintenance of projects plans and resources loaded schedules utilizing Primavera as the software tool. Responsible for financial planning, including but not limited to input into budget confirmations, TWPs, DASA plans, training & travel budgets, procurement tracking, etc. Create laboratory or project specific metrics and other dashboards as appropriate to report on progress to stakeholders and contributors. Maintain project documentations for the team such as project plans, risk registers, deviation logs, assumptions, opportunities, and constraints, etc. Actively facilitating change management practices and change control techniques. Lead the team in identifying project risks and response strategies throughout the life of project and across portfolios of work. Effectively communicating and marketing the progress/status upward and outward to stakeholders. Identify and establish contacts & resources required to execute project plans (workforce & funding) and work with management and test sponsoring groups to obtain resources accordingly. Perform portfolio planning and prioritization for all segments of work including working with test sponsors and other support departments to identify upcoming work, resourcing, needs, budgets, availability, and need dates. Support creating, compiling, and analyzing business area metrics for monthly assessment reports. Interface with all levels of the company and be able to tailor communications appropriate to the audience. Provide strong leadership and innovative approaches to progress project management, drive projects to completion, and achieve test goals.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

Previous experience with financial planning, including but not limited to input into budget confirmations, TWPs, DASA plans, training & travel budgets, procurement tracking, etc. Use of schedules/software tools such as Primavera/P6 Experi nce with creating, compiling, and analyzing business area metrics/reports

Pay Range $103,100.00 - $161,100.00 annually Salary information provided is a general guide line only.
