Based in West Hartford CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company's key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Position

We are looking for an energetic, self-starting NPI Electronics Buyer to provide Supply Chain Support for Engineering/NPI Programs. This position requires a detail-oriented and versatile individual who can maintain a high level of quality when challenged with rapidly shifting priorities. A key contributor to the Supply Chain team, the NPI Electronics Buyer will support program needs by aiding in the selection and management of the suppliers and materials that meet the cost, quality and delivery needs of each program. This position will focus on Electronics procurement, but will support procurement of all commodities as required.

Responsibilities

Sources, purchases, administers and monitors items, materials or services of a technical and specialized nature, including products that require knowledge of electronic and/or mechanical product specifications and sources of supply, in support of NPI project teams and Engineering programs. Solicits and evaluates quotes and proposals in accordance with program needs and contract requirements for NPI programs. Understands the different levels of complexity in various quote packages and can evaluate responses accordingly. Implements purchase contracts (ie Purchase orders, etc) that comply with business and government regulations. Maintains effective documentation and procurement records in support of immediate job functions, regulatory and industry requirements. Engages with suppliers as needed to maintain and update supplier records. Supports supplier meetings and interactions to clarify scope, accelerate project schedule and improve cost. Organizes and manage multiple projects, while tracking and solving supplier issues, suggesting counter measures to implement long-term solutions for identified problems. Learns and shares best practices within Supply Chain team. Participates in continuous improvement events as required. Ensures quality products utilizing Triumph quality procedures and processes. Provide coordination in development of Triumph's small dynamic business base, including small disadvantaged, woman-owned, veteran owned, HubZone and minority owned businesses as required by FAR/DFAR requirements and any contractual, statutory or regulatory requirements. Audits work area for safety compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (Business, Operations, Supply Management or Engineering). 5+ years working in a Manufacturing Environment, Aerospace experience preferred. Experience purchasing a wide variety of nonstandard, specialized and custom equipment and materials requiring knowledge of electronic and/or mechanical product specifications and sources of supply Knowledge of procurement processes and systems Knowledge of competitive bidding preparation/process, contract administration, Cost and value analysis, Negotiating skills Collaborative and approachable interpersonal style with empowerment mindset able to function well in a fast-paced environment. SQCD Mindset Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, Advanced MS Excel skills preferred Knowledge of MRP software required, JDE experience preferred.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Understanding of electronic components and their applications is highly desirable but not required. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is highly desirable but not required. Travel: Ability and willingness to travel approximately 15% although the expectation is not to have extensive travel associated with this function.
