Robert Half Financial Analyst in West Des Moines, Iowa

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst in the casualty insurance industry, based in WEST DES MOINES, Iowa. The role will involve processing and analyzing financial data, providing insights to support strategic decision-making, and ensuring the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and maintain financial data to ensure accuracy and efficiency

• Assist in the development and support of annual expense budgeting and forecasting processes

• Conduct Cost-Benefit Analyses (CBA) for assessing economic viability of projects

• Serve as a liaison between finance/accounting and other departments such as technology, marketing, and sales distribution

• Review and analyze overhead expenses as part of the annual budgeting process

• Prepare monthly variance reports and provide forecasting support

• Administer the budget software, manage access, and troubleshoot issues

• Conduct ad hoc financial reports like headcount reports, project pipeline tracking, and project result tracking

• Support the project team in presenting to the CBA committee which includes senior management. Requirements • Proven experience in the Insurance - Casualty industry.

• Strong proficiency in financial analysis, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and compile detailed reports.

• Solid understanding of budget processes and their application in a dynamic business setting.

• Expertise in variance analysis to monitor performance and identify any financial discrepancies.

• Demonstrable skills in forecasting, with the ability to predict future financial trends and outcomes.

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.

• Proficient in the use of finance-related software and applications.

• A relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

• Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to make informed financial recommendations.

• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong team player, but also able to work independently when required.

• High level of integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
