Blue Origin LLC Technical Project Manager, Software Engineering - Lunar Permanence in Wedgwood, Washington

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you ensure that software gets delivered on time to meet our commitments for the Lunar Permanence organization. You will enable successful delivery of software products by estimating, scheduling, and supervising progress on the program. Working with program management, you will help to coordinate deliveries among flight software groups and ensure that launch dates can be met. Attention to detail will be required to ensure that safety-critical software systems are developed according to program schedules. In order to also help ensure that the software group has staff and tools to perform their job, you will be helping to lead contracts and purchase orders. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Permanence system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Responsibilities Develop robust plans of product deliveries and lead tracking of key operating metrics - including technical, cost, schedule, and risk. Identify and define problem statements and have enough experience to build a realistic project schedule. May have a budget assigned and has authority to purchase based on an approved budget. Work with technical leads to define program scope to create program plans. Work with program management toward long-range objectives without appreciable direction and resolve technical objectives of assignments to develop approaches to solutions. Provides regular status updates and works to resolve project discrepancies (schedule, budget, resources, etc.). Engage with developers on significant issues sufficiently to be able to report to senior leadership. In partnership with Responisble Engineers (RE) and Team Leads own the technical success of product development. Help run contracts and produce statements of work. Qualifications 5+ years of project management experience related to software development. Experience with Project Management Tools such as MS Project, P6 Primavera or similar. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and give to a culture of inclusion. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
