Job Description

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for preparing small batches of material for commercialization. The role involves working with various products, utilizing technical lab equipment such as column chromatography and UV spectrophotometry, and handling raw materials like pig glands and hearts. The technician will participate in daily team meetings to set goals and will assist in running customer products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in running specialty products and customer products.

  • Extract enzymes from pig glands and scale up small batches using lab equipment.

  • Ensure raw materials are on hand and check for expiry.

  • Prepare and clean production areas for use.

  • Monitor and control processing tanks and temperature-controlled tanks using HMIs.

  • Handle equipment under pressurized vacuum and air-controlled valves.

  • Maintain good documentation practices and follow GMP standards.

  • Work with various products across the specialty products group.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Experience in production or pharmaceutical production.

  • Knowledge of batch records and standard operating procedures.

  • Familiarity with cGMP standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree or above in Biotechnology field preferred.

  • 2+ years of experience within GMP or pharmaceutical industry preferred.

  • Attention to detail and awareness.

  • Comfortable working with hazardous materials.

  • Good documentation practices.

  • Willingness to work overtime and extended hours.

  • Ability to create production schedules using Excel.

  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
