Actalent Pharmacy Mailroom Assistant in Waukegan, Illinois

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Pharmacy Intake Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensure accurate data entry, and work collaboratively within a pharmacy space. This role offers the opportunity to work at a large pharma company, with the potential to transition into a hybrid role once training is completed and competency is demonstrated.

Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including morning and afternoon mail opening, and preparing mail for dispatch.

  • Remove staples from documents and print outgoing mail.

  • Stand at a printer for significant periods to manage printing tasks.

  • Navigate and maneuver through various computer systems efficiently.

  • Perform data entry and administrative tasks accurately.

  • Work independently while also collaborating with another team member to manage inbound and outbound tasks.

  • Manage all aspects of incoming mail and outgoing mail that require printing.

Essential Skills

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college diploma or a 2-year degree is preferred.

  • At least 1-3 years experience within an office or administrative setting.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal direction.

  • High-quality customer service skills.

  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Exposure to core insurance (Medical and Pharmacy Benefit) knowledge is a plus.

  • Experience in pharmacy, insurance, clerical, data entry, customer service, and healthcare administration.

Work Environment

The position follows a shift from Monday through Friday 10:30 am to 7:00 pm. Training will be conducted online for 3-5 days during the first week. The work environment includes standing for long periods while managing printing tasks and operating within a professional office setting.
