Actalent Construction Quality Control Manager in Watervliet, New York

Job Title: Construction Quality Control Manager

Summary: The Construction Quality Control Manager oversees the quality control processes for construction projects on a federal military base. This role ensures compliance with Federal, Department of Defense (DoD), and Navy requirements, maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control Plan Development:

  • Develop and implement the construction sections of the project quality control plan. This includes defining the three phases of inspection: pre-construction, during construction, and post-construction.

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure alignment with contract specifications and requirements.

  • Supervision and Leadership: Lead and supervise all quality control personnel, including inspectors and technicians.

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

  • Provide guidance and training to project team members on quality control processes.

  • Materials and Workmanship:

  • Approve or reject materials based on quality standards.

  • Review plans, surveys, and fabrication processes to verify compliance with specifications.

  • Ensure that workmanship meets established standards and contractual requirements.

  • Non-Conformance and Safety:

  • Identify non-conforming work or safety hazards and take corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with contractors to address deficiencies promptly.

  • Maintain accurate records of non-conformances and corrective actions.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Document quality control activities, inspections, and test results.

  • Prepare regular reports for project management and government agencies.

  • Participate in progress meetings to discuss quality-related matters.

    Qualifications:

  • Must have experience with RMS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a QC Manager in federal government projects.

  • Ability to obtain federal base access clearance.

  • Certification in USACE EM 385-1-1.

  • Completion of the “Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors” course
