Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Watervliet, New York

Description

We are in search of an Accounting Assistant for our operations in the Capital Region, New York. This role is essential to our team, with responsibilities that include handling both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, managing job costing, generating reports, and overseeing payroll. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity with a steadily, growing company!

Responsibilities:

• Handle Accounts Payable tasks, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and paid in a timely manner.

• Oversee Accounts Receivable activities, including invoicing, collections, and reconciliation of client accounts.

• Manage job costing processes to track and allocate costs accurately across various projects.

• Generate comprehensive financial reports to assist with decision-making and strategy planning.

• Oversee the payroll process, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.

• Leverage your skills and experience in Cost Accounting to contribute to financial planning and budget management.

• Undertake Expense Reporting tasks to track and manage company expenditures.

• Use advanced accounting software and tools, with a preference for those with Timberline experience.

Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar Accounting Assistant role

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated knowledge in Job Cost and Cost Accounting

• Experience in Expense Reporting

• Familiarity with Payroll systems and processes

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail

• Strong communication and organizational abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Ability to work in a team and individually as required

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
