Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is an independent, non-profit rural healthcare system serving 10 counties in northeastern South Dakota and west-central Minnesota. Job Summary Join a team of 5 Respiratory Therapists with continuing coverage of days, nights, weekends, and holidays. There are 8 or 12 hour shifts available with call on weekends where the employee must be within 20-minute response time or occupy in-house call. Monday - Friday Outpatient Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT). Full-time and part-time positions available. Responsibilities include:

  • Utilize respiratory-driven protocol
  • Management for ventilator and noninvasive ventilation
  • Medications delivery, Bronchial hygiene, and Volume expansion therapy
  • Smoking cessation and patient education
  • Arterial blood draws (ABGs), Rapid Response, Code Blue, and Trauma Teams
  • Attend all cesarean sections and/or high-risk deliveries
  • PFT in an outpatient setting, for Pulmonology outreach and Prairie Lakes Pulmonology Clinic Patients

Qualifications

Must possess an Active license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified credentials through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

A degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care Program, Associates or Bachelors

Certification in the American heart associations BLS is required. Certification in ACLS (RQI), PALS (RQI), and NRP within 6 months of hire.
