Job Summary The Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics Manager is afull-timeposition. This position workson-siteat Prairie Lakes Healthcare System. The BI and Analytics Manager works with a multi-disciplinary team to determine data requirements and provide creative, data-driven visualization and solutions to support the strategic business decision-making, operational reporting, and marketing activities of PLHS. Develops complex dashboards and reports utilizing approved tools, creates processes and database structures, and manages and maintains business data for reporting and intelligence purposes. The BI and Analytics Manager works closely with IT, Operations, and other PLHS departments to support organization-wide BI initiatives and related projects and teams.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining and engineering as well as modeling, visualization and communication deliverables.
  • Examine, interpret and report results of analytical initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, operations, and Information Technology
  • Develop and implement quality controls and departmental standards to ensure data quality standards, organizational expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with team members to identify data requirements and satisfy Business Intelligence (BI) needs.
  • Create, modify, and maintain reports, dashboards, visualizations, and other BI tools to support business decision-making.
  • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • Write documentation for BI tools produced and provide user support as necessary.
  • Perform ad-hoc queries and reporting from SQL and other databases.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT on streamlining and automating data-related intra-departmental business processes.
  • Establish processes and create database structures for collection and secure storage of data with a high level of data quality, consistency, and integrity.
  • Manage the creation, compilation, modification, maintenance, and updates of data sets used by the department.
  • Collaborate with IT on database management and streamlining and automating regular data capture and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate business data with that of other departments to provide new insights and information.
  • Generate standard and ad-hoc analysis from reporting systems and other business, operational, financial, or economic data for use in business presentations and marketing material.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest software developments.
  • Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics support that support key business decisions.
  • Design and build technical processes to address business issues.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
  • Ensure accuracy of data and deliverables of reporting employees with comprehensive policies and processes.
  • Oversee the data/report requests process: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc.
  • Organize and drive successful completion of data driven initiatives through effective manag ment of analyst and data employees and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Perform all other tasks assigned.

Education and Experience Required Bachelors degree in business, economics, mathematics, computer science or other quantitative field is required. An additional four (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelors degree. Masters degree preferred.

Six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in data analysis and analytics in a business environment is required. Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical abilities. Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources. Experience should include performing business reporting and analysis, analytics, economic or market research, forecasting, statistical and data analysis. Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
