Job Description

Trek is looking for a detail-oriented, self-motivated individual to fill a Cost Analyst role on our Supply Chain Finance team. This key position will engage with operational business partners including Global Finance leaders, Product Managers, and our Global Forecasting team to provide data, analysis, reporting and insights to aid in decision-making.

The ideal candidate will be able to manage bicycle costing throughout the product lifecycle while establishing great relationships throughout the globe to drive an understanding of how costs affect the financial performance of the bike company. The candidate should be able to manage & prioritize multiple projects/tasks and has the opportunity to make a huge impact on the bicycle company in a short period of time.

The Cost Analyst will report directly to the Global Cost Accounting Manager and will be located in Waterloo, WI.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Establish & maintain global full-absorption costing for purchased & assembled bicycles and analyze variances

  • Engage with Product Managers to understand product development cost implications and their impact on margins

  • Work closely with Cost Manager, Product Managers and Global Supply Chain Managers to understand costs and develop annual cost estimates

  • Calculate, understand, and communicate cost changes and future financial impacts

  • Play a key role in the annual financial audit, annual budget and monthly forecast process

  • Responsible for end-of-month, quarter, and year-end closing activities, including variance analytics

  • Assist with ad-hoc analysis and special projects as assigned

  • Actively contribute to departmental initiatives/process improvements to enhance the overall department’s effectiveness

  • Complete accurate and timely Balance Sheet Account reconciliations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 3-5 years of accounting and financial analysis experience. A background in Cost / Operational Accounting is a plus

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and integrated ERP systems (such as JDE, SAP, Oracle, etc.)

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and communication (written and verbal) skills

  • Effective at collaboration and communication with colleagues from all departments including Forecasting, Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and all members of the domestic and global leadership teams

  • Ability to extract, organize, analyze, and communicate data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions with the use of an ERP & BI system (sales data for analytics)

  • High energy and ability to drive and become a catalyst for organizational change

  • Intellectual curiosity and passion for learning and contributing as a part of a high performance team
