Position Summary:
IDEX/MPT is seeking to hire a Financial Analyst at our facility located in Waterloo, Ontario supporting various aspects of financial planning and analysis functions. This rewarding role has the opportunity to work closely with business leadership to provide impactful financial information to drive business performance. You work alongside leadership teams serving as the key finance partner for the operations team. MPT plays a leading role in critical pneumatic applications across healthcare, food, environmental and industrial markets and is well positioned for growth.
The Financial Analyst will report directly to the Director of Finance, partnering on strategic business initiatives and providing insight into key operational performance and commercial metrics. Reports To: Finance Director
Essential Functions:
Position requirements include, but are not limited to:
Key Business Partner responsible for all Managerial Cost Management functions including costing standards, controls, analytics, EOZ, physical inventory process
Drives 80/20 principles in FP&A analytics ensuring annual Zero Up process & partnering with commercial and operational teams to understand our financials
Supports Site leadership team in ad hoc financial statements including submissions of key reporting including Daily Updates, Flash, Actuals, Forecast, and supporting our Monthly Business Review
Supporting Great Teams partnering within internal & cross functional teams enhancing financial acumen and support ad hoc analytic requests
Ensures accurate and on time financial reporting with commentary for reporting calendar including daily, weekly, and monthly reporting
Continuous improvement mindset in optimizing processes
Controllership Mindset ensuring all activities are executed fully in compliance with US GAAP, SOX, and Corporate reporting policies.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree
O-2 years of experience in the field or in a related field
Familiarity with financial programs and software
Basic understanding of principles of finance
Detail and process oriented.
Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and follow up skills.
Language Skills:
- Strong communication skills
Computer Skills:
- Intermediate to expert level skills within the Microsoft Suite of products
Other Qualifications:
Strategic thinking
Ability to persuade senior stakeholders
Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley
