Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Waterloo, Iowa
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team in Waterloo for a contract-to-hire position. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounts payable processes, proficiency in SAP, and a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support a fast-paced accounting team where attention to detail and high-volume invoice processing is crucial for success.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Reconciliation: 3-Way Matching - Match invoices to goods receipt, verifying supplier details, account accuracy, and addressing discrepancies promptly.
Transaction Approvals: Obtain appropriate approvals for non-inventory transactions and process supplier invoices accurately within SAP.
Supplier Management: Maintain and update supplier information within the ERP system, ensuring proper documentation and verification procedures.
Payment Processing: Perform accurate and timely check, wire, and ACH payments both domestically and internationally.
Month-End Reconciliations: Prepare assigned reconciliations and accounts payable accruals during month-end close.
AP Inbox Communication: Sort and categorize emails in a shared Accounts Payable mailbox for efficient workflow management.
Audit and Compliance: Assist with annual audit processes, responding to queries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
Expense Report Support: Help process employee expense reports and assist with software implementations and optimizations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of accounts payable experience, preferably the manufacturing industry, utilizing an ERP system and working within Excel
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to analyze discrepancies and verify data in high volumes
Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills for handling supplier and team interactions.
Problem-Solving Capabilities: Ability to identify, address, and resolve issues independently.
