Trinity Health Phlebotomist - Evening Shift - 20 hours - wknd/holiday rotation in Waterbury, Connecticut

You would be responsible to responsible to obtain blood specimens, process laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and to provide patient information to the appropriate care giver. Other duties include, but are not limited to, receiving patient specimens from the patient care units in Sunquest. Ordering laboratory tests. Scheduling and performing home draws via venipuncture. Ensures accurate and complete patient registration.

What you will do:

  • Properly identifies patient per policy and performs venipuncture using standard/butterfly methods

  • Labels all specimens following laboratory policy

  • Receives/cancels/orders and processes laboratory/microbiology specimens

Work Hours/Shift:

• 20 hours, Evening Shift (rotating weekends/holidays)

Requirements :

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of phlebotomy program

  • Certification: Nat'l Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience in a blood draw station, ambulatory care or acute care setting.
