PAMLICO ANIMAL HOSPITAL PA Kennel Attendent in Washington, North Carolina

Pamlico Pet Resort in Washington, NC is seeking a responsible individual with a strong work ethic and passion for pet care to join our team in the kennel.

This is a FULL TIME position

Previous kennel experience is ideal; however we are willing to train someone who is eager to learn.

Primary Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Pet Care - Feeding, walking, watering, and cleaning up after pets in our care. Administering medication when applicable. Assisting our veterinary assistants and doctors when needed.
  • Pampering - spend time interacting with and playing with the pets including, giving special snacks, pool time, extra fetch or play time, etc.
  • Cleaning - Cleaning, disinfecting and maintaining cages, runs, yards, floors and walls to ensure all areas are clean and to prevent the spread of disease. Lots of poop and pee inside and outside.
  • Basic Animal Grooming - bathing cats and dogs, performing nail trims and files, ear cleanings, expression of anal glands, brush and blow out.
  • Computer - Using an electronic computer system to document all activity for boarders.

  • Must have flexibility in hours including, but not limited to, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Has the ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Has the ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Hardworking and motivated
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to take direction and responds well to constructive criticism
  • Working knowledge of computers; typing skills
  • Capable of working independently AND in a team
  • Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Understand working conditions: Exposure to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches, and contagious diseases.
