American Air Filter Company, Inc. Foreman in Washington, North Carolina

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Direct the work of the production area to ensure the production of quality filtration products. Assist Operations Manager in all Filter Production matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise the daily operations of the filter production area.

  • Make sure production goals are met based on production schedules.

  • Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities with the ability to adjust as necessary.

  • Works to develop improvements to the production process by recommending changes.

  • Analyze employee resources and select employees for each position.

  • Provide feedback to employees as to whether production goals were met.

  • Schedule employees for overtime.

  • Enforce the company disciplinary and safety policies.

  • Assist Operations Manager in establishing and maintaining departmental budgets.

  • Mentor, manage and train employees.

  • Resolve conflicts quickly and amicably.

  • Ensure that each area meets quality and scheduling priorities.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates

Requirements

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must demonstrate strong Management/Leadership skills to be able to direct the daily operations of the various Lines

  • Has a knowledge of or ability to rapidly learn filter assembly procedures.

  • Requires the ability to communicate with shop employees and company managers

  • Strong problem solving abilities

  • Must be able to work well with other and lead/focus teams to accomplish goals.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires the equivalent of five years of production experience

  • A minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory position is recommended.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

  • License or certificates in any of the above mentioned trade skills are beneficial

SPECIAL SKILLS:

  • Requires the ability to read and follow blueprints and product drawings.

  • Must have the mathematical skill needed to be able to square units, convert fractions, and figure dimensions.
