SUMMARY

The ER Manager and Trauma Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the emergency department (ED) operations, including staffing and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of emergency care services to all patients that present to the ED. The role involves coordinating trauma care services, ensuring trauma protocols and guidelines are followed, and managing clinical staff within the department. This individual will ensure optimal care for patients and quality assurance across the trauma program.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Operational Oversight:Oversee daily operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring efficient patient flow, optimal resource utilization, and high standards of care.

  • Clinical Leadership:Serve as a role model for staff by demonstrating clinical expertise in providing direct patient care, especially during high census periods or unforeseen circumstances in the Emergency Department.

  • Staff Supervision and Development:Supervise and support Emergency Department staff, including nursing, clinical, and support personnel, to build and maintain a skilled team of nurses, paramedics, and assistants committed to quality patient care.

  • Trauma Program Management:Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the trauma program, including the development, implementation, and evaluation of trauma care protocols. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement:Lead trauma-related quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives, fostering continuous improvements in patient safety and care delivery.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate of accredited School of Nursing-RN.

  • Current State license as a Registered Nurse.

  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC

  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience with at least 2 yrs. in Emergency Nursing

  • Experience in supervising and leading teams in a fast-paced healthcare or emergency department environment.

  • Knowledge of emergency medical services, including pre-hospital care and trauma.
