CenterWell Senior Learning Design Professional in Washington, District Of Columbia

The Senior Learning Design Professional uses instructional design, cognitive psychology and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap and develops consumable learning materials for our adult learner population. The Learning Design Professional will support Healthcare professionals and work on varied clinical and non-clinical assignments that frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Senior Learning Design Professional work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors and where the development of learning products requires a comprehensive skillset with authoring, media and assessment toolsets.

  • Uses consultative skills to commit projects and conduct needs analysis with clients to determine whether learning solutions are necessary or relevant.

  • Analyzes content, organizes content, designs solutions, and produces storyboards, scripts, performance support, mobile learning and manuals.

  • Analyzes learning needs and partners with subject matter experts to provide input for course content.

  • Negotiates with the business to set realistic expectations and timelines for all learning deliverables.

  • Writes effective learning objectives and coordinates performance assessments to measure training effectiveness.

  • Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs and follows an established practice for routine re-assessment for maintenance/sunsetting.

  • Develops product design and packaging, performs quality and assurance testing, and aligns with corporate branding standards.

  • Plans, organizes, and develops training curriculum, materials, job performance aids and programs to meet specific training needs.

  • Provides strong learning asset management of graphics, video, multimedia and external resources needed to produce deliverables.

  • Tracks and analyzes the training programs effectiveness by examining learner's satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement.

  • Provides instruction and guidance to Facilitators.

  • Knows how to use collaborative conferencing tools to facilitate learning.

  • Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.

  • Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.

  • Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, adult learning strategies, or curriculum design.

  • 5-7 years in instructional design, facilitation, adult learning strategies and adult learning theories or other learning environments. Prior experience working in a consumer centric company leading the learning function or related function.

  • Progressive analytics experience with a focus on learning strategies and adult learning theories.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Demonstrated capability collaborating in a dynamic, virtual team environment and contributing towards a high performing team culture.

  • Prior demonstrated capability leading teams and developing and maintaining a dynamic and high performing team culture.

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Teams, as well as popular eLearning authoring tools, animation development tools, and audio/video toolsets.

  • Practical knowledge and experience with Section 508 accessibility design (closed-captioning, alt tags, color-blindness, alternate navigation, etc.)

  • Extensive learning project management experience.

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving corporate dynamic driven by nationally distributed workforce infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MMaster's Degree in one of the following areas: Learning and Performance; Adult Education; Organizational Design or related field.

  • 10+ years in design, facilitation, adult learning strategies and adult learning theories or other learning environments.

  • Experience with AI applications in learning

  • Work experience in a Healthcare environment

Additional Information

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$71,100 - $97,800 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
