Description
Robert Half is recruiting for a Junior Staff Accountant on behalf of a technology company that delivers manufacturing, industrial, and infrastructure solutions based in the DC area. This is a great opportunity for an entry-level or early-career accountant looking to gain experience in a high-volume setting. The Junior Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller and focus heavily on Accounts Payable, reconciliations, and vendor management, while also gaining exposure to general accounting duties such as journal entries and month-end close.
What You'll Be Doing as a Junior Staff Accountant
Process high-volume accounts payable transactions accurately and timely
Perform account and vendor reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain strong vendor relationships
Assist with preparing and posting journal entries
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
Collaborate with the Controller and team on financial reporting and internal audits
Assist with purchase order matching, coding of invoices, and approval workflows
Ensure compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies
Help with accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense reports as needed
Requirements
What We're Looking for in a Junior Staff Accountant
Degree in Accounting preferred; open to Business or Finance majors with relevant experience
2+ year of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or high-volume environment
Experience with NetSuite is strongly preferred
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced office
Comfortable working in-office 4 days per week in Washington, DC
