Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer of the Law Center and serving as a critical member of the senior administrative team, the Deputy Chief Operating Officer (COO) will help lead a broad portfolio of operational and administrative units. These include Business and Financial Affairs, Facilities Management, Information Systems Technology, Human Resources, Financial Aid, Logistics, Public Safety, Early Learning Center (childcare), Faculty Support, Centers & Institutes, and the Office of the Registrar. The Deputy COO will ensure the smooth coordination of these areas while supporting strategic priorities, policy development, and day-to-day operational oversight.

Change Management and Organizational Development.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication.
Work InteractionsThe Deputy COO serves as the principal deputy to the Chief Operating Officer, providing operational leadership and strategic guidance across Georgetown Law’s administrative functions. Acting on behalf of the COO when needed, the Deputy COO plays an integral role in managing day-to-day operations while contributing to long-term planning and initiatives that support the Law Center’s academic and administrative priorities. In partnership with the COO, Dean, Associate Deans, and other key stakeholders, the Deputy COO ensures the operational infrastructure of Georgetown Law is aligned with its strategic goals. This leader will cultivate a service-oriented culture, advancing efficient systems, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and developing processes to sustain Georgetown Law’s growth and mission.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required; Masters' degree preferred
10 years of required experience
Significant leadership experience in complex organizations, preferably within higher education, legal education, or similarly complex environments
Expertise in managing diverse operational functions, including finance, facilities, HR, IT, faculty and academic administration, and capital project planning
Experience overseeing faculty support services, academic operations, and research centers and institutes in a university setting
A proven track record of leading complex administrative operations and building high-performing teams
Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects and planning initiatives
Strong understanding of strategic financial management and planning in support of academic missions
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate across all levels of the organization

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$135,188.00 - $264,291.85
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
