The Arcanum Group Data Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

The Arcanum Group is seeking a Data Analyst to support a team located in Washington DC to provide data analysis and data modeling services.

  • Works within a team of data modelers and analysts, project managers, business analysts to understand reporting and analytics requirements of the various business lines supported

  • Identifies business needs from existing data structures and implements innovative data solutions

  • Governs data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices and related development methodologies within client systems

  • Designs and develops conceptual, logical, and physical data models that are scalable and optimized to meet data warehouse architecture as well as business analytics need.

  • Implements and maintains data models

  • Develops and maintains technical documentation, metadata definition, and catalog of the data structures

  • Researches, troubleshoots, and resolves data issues impacting reports and dashboard delivery

  • Understands existing data models and optimizes for enhanced performance

  • Supports ongoing maintenance of data structures in the data platform.

  • Manages data requests as assigned through corresponding projects, ad hoc requests and/or daily reporting as assigned

  • Reports out data findings such as, but not limited to: discrepancies, concerns, irregularities, outliers, miscalculations, etc.

  • Design, develop, and maintain data models and standards for our client to address their data and analytics needs

    Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required

  • 4+ years’ experience with data modeling methodologies and techniques that includes a deep understanding of conceptual, logical and physical data models, demonstrated experience in providing database development, management and reporting to include proficiency in Oracle Business Intelligence Environments, the ability to support programs/projects that include implementation of enterprise level tools/capabilities, and experience with modern data modeling tools and technologies that assist with the collection, integration, analysis, and presentation of business information through data, experience with information architecture concepts (Master data management, metadata management) and proficiency in data lifecycle and data architecture concepts.

  • Expert Level with Microsoft Suite – (EXCEL, Access, Word, etc.)

  • Experience with Tableau and Power BI is preferred.

  • Good understanding of Agile and SDLC methodologies Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and leading practices

  • Experience with SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint online an experience in creating and maintaining SharePoint elements including sites, lists, libraries, calendars, web parts, and others, the creation of workflows to automate the company’s business processes, managing user permissions and migrating large amounts of content from a legacy file management system to SharePoint is preferred
